40th Annual Arts and Craft Fair

A Virtual Marketplace of North-Central Massachusetts Artisans

September 1 – September 30, 2021.

Welcome! The Townsend Historical Society is pleased to present our 40th Anniversary Arts and Craft Fair in a new (one time only) virtual format. From the comfort of your own home, you can view the handiwork of our devoted vendors who are helping us celebrate the traditional arts. Each vendor is hand selected for their talents, which go to use crafting quality items available for you to purchase. We can support these individuals and their small businesses by shopping right here on the virtual common. Shopping local encourages a strong sense of community that the fair brings – something we miss as we continue to social distance and do our part to put an end to the pandemic. Let’s make this event a success for all. We look forward to seeing you all in person very soon. Thank you!

About the Fair

Since 1981, the Townsend Arts and Craft Fair has been dedicated to providing an outlet for quality vendors and their wares. Our community is an excellent backdrop for this event. It is home to dozens of individuals who work hard to keep old traditions alive. Browsing the great selection of items available from our vendors, you will find accessories, bags, beauty and wellness, candles, clothing, edibles, glass, holiday, home decor, jewelry, painting and mixed media, signs, wall hangings, toys, woodworking and more. Each vendor is selected by a jury to confirm all items are hand made and of superior quality. We present this digital common as an online marketplace for you to browse.

How-to shop til you drop:

From now until September 30th, the virtual marketplace is available 24-7 for your convenience. We have provided links to get in touch with each vendor and will be highlighting each one on our social media and blog. We encourage you to visit their websites, virtual shops, and social media to see their latest creations and products. They likely will have far more than the glimpses offered here. Please follow the fair closely and/or reach out to them for the latest items available.

When something catches your eye, get ready to grab it! All sales are conducted directly with the vendors. If a vendor has a website or shop, you can purchase the item there. For those without a online processing center, you should email the individual to conclude the sale. Please be sure to check their specific policies as you are subject to their terms and conditions. The vendors are responsible for mailing any purchases to you. If you agree to pickup the item, it is up to you to arrange the time and place that is fair to the vendor. Remember, this event is a collaborative partnership. Success comes from both sides.

A Raffle for Preservation

Each of our vendors have generously donated items for a raffle in support of preservation. Please click the link above or click here to be taken directly to the raffle at the bottom of this page. Every dollar raised goes to support the 501(c)3 non-profit Townsend Historical Society and their educational programs, buildings, field trips and more.
