Coming up on November 7 at 2PM, join us as we welcome Townsend native Bill Pavao as he shares a bit of history about his time as curator of the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast/Museum.

Our meeting will kickoff with a brief business gathering. We need to approve minutes from the previous November, as well as from the Member’s Meeting in September. They are enclosed below for review. Please send comments and corrections to our email at townsendhistoricalsociety@yahoo.com.

If you are inclined, you can watch both program’s recordings, which are available on our social media (and may or may not require a login to review):

Following, there will be a review of the season. Reports will be provided by the President, Treasurer, Site Administrator and the Board. Following any new business from the floor, we will proceed with our program upon dissolving the meeting.

Our featured speaker is Bill Pavao, a teacher of local history. Bill is a Townsend native and is excited to be sharing his time as curator of the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast/Museum, and Borden’s other home Maplecroft. Lizzie Borden is infamous for being accused of the horrific murders of her parents. She was acquitted after a dramatic trial that captured national attention. Borden sold the early Greek Revival house and moved to a beautiful and stylish Queen Anne residence following her trails. Bill will share the history of the family, recount the trial, and the life of Borden after being released. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about one of New England’s greatest mysteries.

The meeting will be via Zoom and broadcast on Facebook Live. Please click the link below to join us:
